has earned critical acclaim as a concert harpist and as a singer accompanying herself on the Celtic harp. A graduate of the Eastman School of Music and the Royal College of Music, London, and the recipient of numerous awards, Ms. Mitchell first attracted public notice when she won First Prize at the prestigious Seventh International Harp Competition in Jerusalem. This led to invitations from orchestras and recital series, as well as appearances on radio and television. Her television credits include The Today Show, Good Morning America, Live with Regis and Kathie Lee, CNN, BBC and DRS-Swiss TV. She has performed world-wide including at the White House and made appearances at Carnegie Hall. As a guest soloist, Ms. Mitchell appeared recently with the chamber orchestras of Dallas, Fort Worth, Rochester , St. Lukes and the Hartford Symphony. An established name in the television, motion picture and recording studios of New York City, Emily Mitchell has been profiled in People Magazine and has recently worked with Michael Jackson, Natalie Cole, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles and Johnny Mathis, as well as playing the historic Barbara Streisand tour. Ms. Mitchell records exclusively on the RCA, Victor and Red Seal labels and recently released two new concert harp recordings on the JMR label. Her new album for both concert and Celtic harp, Flying Dreams, is with guest artist James Galway.
